Coffee House

The Zanzibar Coffee House was built in 1885 by Sir Tharia Topan, who was Wazir to the Sultan Said Barghash, the third sultan. The building served first as the noble residence of the important owner, later it housed a Bohora school and, more recently, was the base for project organizations.
Recently, the house has been converted into both a coffee house and a guesthouse.

On the ground floor the Coffee House serves fresh coffee, cakes and snacks all day.
Upstairs, it offers a unique experience of staying in an authentic Arab House. All rooms are air conditioned, individually furnished, with original Zanzibar antique tables, rare lamps…all creating a comfortable and cosy atmosphere.

Guests also have exclusive use of the roof terrace on the top of the house that provides magnificent views across Stone town with its minarets, mosques etc…
Breakfast is served up here and it is a perfect place to observe the town coming alive.

236 Hurumzi

236 Hurumzi, the second tallest building in the heart of Stone Town, provides elegant, traditionally furnished, airy rooms and a Tower Top Restaurant with an amazing view of Stone Town.

The furnishings are all original Zanzibar antiques of varied origins and styles that, together, create the impressions of the Arabian Nights.

The sixteen guestrooms are each representing Zanzibar traditions in a distinct way. Most of them are equipped with large stone bathtubs providing unusual bathing pleasure.

Palace Hotel

Right in the heart of Stone Town, in an old Arab palace, you'll find the Zanzibar Palace Hotel.

This nine room boutique hotel integrates Arabian, Indian and English designs to create a real Zanzibar palace.

But it also offers a wide range of modern facilities (AC, TV, DVD…).

Fumba Beach Lodge

Fumba Beach Lodge, the first and only lodge offering accommodation on the pristine Fumba Peninsula, is concealed well away from the busy tourist areas.

Situated on one of Zanzibar’s beautiful and secluded beaches, the lodge is a luxurious and peaceful hideaway, offering a perfect blend of casual elegance and friendly, very good service.

Fumba Beach Lodge has only twenty six rooms to ensure your privacy.

The rooms are scattered more or less along the beach, shaded by a forest of magnificent baobab trees and cooled by gentle sea breezes.

Matemwe Bungalows

Matemwe Bungalows, in its lush tropical gardens, has twelve thatched bungalows set on sea-washed rocks alongside a sandy beach.

It offers intimate swimming pools, massages, a fine powder sandy of the beach, the proximity to one of the best coral reefs and a local fish market on your doorstep.

Each spacious suite has a private veranda with hammocks and couches overlooking the Indian Ocean.

As well as the rooms, the restaurant and the various lounge areas overlook the Indian Ocean and the fresh sea breeze ensures that the climate is pleasant and that the mosquitoes stay away.

At the end of the day, a well deserved fresh cocktail can be enjoyed at the poolside bar.

Sultan Palace

This hotel is the only one on the beach build in the Arabic Zanzibar style.

The hotel has fifteen air conditioned suites which, like the bathrooms, are more than spacious.

A walkway leads down to the beach and there is a terrace bar where lunch is served.

Relaxation and sunbathing are the main priorities at Sultan Palace, but activities include snorkeling and sailing trips up the coast with picnics.

Gemma dell’Est

Located on the North-Western shores of Zanzibar, at Nungwi, this enchanting and luxurious resort is constructed to melt with its magnificent surroundings and the marvelous contours of the landscape. It is set in the midst of exotic and colorful tropical gardens and waterfalls inviting you to enjoy the pristine and relaxing view over the Indian Ocean.

The hotel is the largest in Zanzibar, which explains the use of golf carts to transport the guests around.

The modern and comfortable deluxe rooms are all guaranteed to have a sea view.

Guests have access to a wide variety of activities and facilities include a large swimming pool with children's area, a jacuzzi and an outdoor gym.
